allen ukah

Allen Ukah is a composer based in Las Vegas, Nevada. With a background in applied mathematics and music from Harvard University, Allen draws on diverse influences—jazz, gospel, electroacoustic, and orchestral music—to craft music that enhances visual storytelling. He believes that “Black music is a testament to Black radical imagination” (Iowa Public Radio) and strives to honor its legacy of innovation and genre-bending creativity through his music composition.Currently completing a Master of Music in Film Scoring at Berklee Online, Allen’s work includes writing original music for Fierce Funny & Fly, a 2020 documentary spotlighting Marsha Warfield, Kim Coles, and a group of talented women who created the first comedy festival exclusively for Black women. The film was featured in seven festivals and received Special Mention at the London International Monthly Film Festival.With a growing portfolio of original music and a passion for storytelling, Allen is eager to collaborate on projects that amplify underrepresented voices and stories. He brings a flexible, creative approach to each opportunity, committed to crafting music that resonates deeply with the narrative.
